Sometimes I think that skateboarding is about how technical people can get with skateboards under their feet. Today, I’m thinking that skateboarding is about how people can do basic tricks so well that they look undeniably better than most other people’s versions of the same tricks. Today, I’m thinking about Phil Shao. Clearly, by watching above, he did everything so proper that it’s as impressive (if not more) than some of the mindbending technical skateboarding that we see in 2012. The man left his mark. Rest in peace, Phil Shao.

Two things that I love dearly in life, my skateboard and my beer. I have been involved in both activities for well over twenty years and counting now. There is nothing like a cold beer after a sick ass session on your board with the homies. Period. 10 years ago, Paul Pierce had to play every game of the NBA season with 4 guys on his back. He carried his team through one of the darkest periods in Boston Celtics history. Now that he has a great supporting cast, he still plays like he has the rest of the team on his back, which is why the Celts are contenders. It may sound silly, and some folks downright clown me for it but one of the many reasons I relocated here to Massachusetts is The Boston Celtics. Yes. I have been a die hard fan for over 20 years now. Being from California the amount of ridicule I have received for being a C’s fan and not a Laker fan, Warriors or even Kings fan is legendary. I have even got into some heated donnybrooks in bars due to folks big mouths’ talking about my beloved green. One of my favorite Celtics is the man Kevin Garnett. Call him whatever the fuck you want, dude is the man. Period. Killing it since he got into the NBA straight from High School, dude will be one of those illustrious few to make it into the hall of fame when he is done playing. Its good to be here in Massachusetts. Its even better to be a Celtic fan.
